Rules and Regulations: #FavPlaceSimcoe Contest

Understandings and Definitions
“Rules” are the rules and regulations, including limitations, set out herein.
“The Contest” or “Contest” is the activity prescribed by the Rules.
“Intent” describes the idea of what the Contest might be, and how it might ideally proceed.
Further definitions may occur throughout this document, as designated with appropriate grammatical criteria.
The Intent of the #FavPlaceSimcoe Contest is to promote growing the Greenbelt in Ontario to Simcoe County in order to better protect natural heritage and water features, as well as agriculture from urban sprawl. Additionally, the Intent is that this proceeds in a fun and harmless way.
The Contest is meant to proceed, generally, as any other public contest is meant to proceed, and has been conceived, broadly, in light of similar such contests.
To ensure your entry is eligible, follow these instructions for submitting images and videos for the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition’s (SCGC) “#FavPlaceSimcoe” contest:
Entry is accomplished in two ways.
1) Entries are submitted by posting content to Specified Social Media Platforms and tagging posts with two hashtags.
a. Specified social media platforms are: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Posts can be made on any of these platforms.
b. To be elibigle posts on social media must be tagged with both the #FavPlaceSimcoe and #GrowOurGB hastags.
2) Entry can also be via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
a. Entries made by email do not require either hashtag.
Entries are to be comprised of digital content featuring a place in Simcoe County. Entries must be appropriate for public viewing and comply by the respective User Agreements of the Specified Social Media Platforms. The Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition reserves the right to disqualify entries with inappropriate content.
The contest is open to residents of Ontario, Canada.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition will be final. No purchase is necessary.
The following prizes will be awarded to each of the winners.

Entries and Identification
Entrants must own all rights to the photographs or video submitted. As such, the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition and the contest sponsors are not responsible for any breach of copyright resulting from contest entries.
Photographs or videos that have been published in a magazine or newspaper (except online) are not eligible. Photographs or videos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.
With regard to any photograph or video submitted to this contest, the entrant, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retains copyright.
By uploading or submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition publications.
The Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Entrants recognize and accept that in the case of identifiable information appearing in contest entries, including but not limited to faces or other identifiable parts of the body, private property, licence plates, the SCGC is not liable to any consequence that might come from such information being made public.
Winners' names and photographs/video will be published on www.simcoecountygreenbelt.ca, and on SCGC social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
The SCGC reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional and advertising materials. Photos published will be credited to the photographer where possible.
The contest will run from August 15, 2016 to October 31, 2016. Prizes will be awarded weekly.
In order to be eligible for the week’s contest, the video or photograph need to be entered no later than 11:59 pm EST on Sunday of the contest week.
A winner will be chosen at random from the weeks’ entries.
Winners will be notified by email or social media messaging ONLY.
Notification of Winning will be by 5:00 pm EST on the Monday following the Sunday Deadline, outlined above.
The decision regarding the winner is final.
SCGC may choose a second winner in the event of a Non-Reply by the first winner. A Non-Reply will be deemed to have occurred if the first winner has not replied to Notification of Winning by 4:59 pm EST of the Monday following Notification of Winning.
This Contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, and is subject to all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations. By entering this Contest, the entrant agrees that the courts of the Province of Ontario shall have jurisdiction to entertain any action or other legal proceedings based on any provision of the Rules outlined herein or the running of this Contest. The contestant hereby irrevocably grants exclusive jurisdiction to the courts of the Province of Ontario in all matters concerning their participation in and the running of this contest.
The entrant expressly acknowledges and agrees that the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition, including any of its authorized agents:
1) is not liable to the contestant for any damages or loss of any kind arising out of, or in connection with, participation in the Contest;
2) cannot guarantee that any of the entrant’s personal information transmitted through the internet or the application will remain confidential or secure;
3) has no control over and are not responsible for any use or misuse including, but not limited, to any alteration, modification, reuse or distortion of the photograph(s) that may occur or be caused by third parties;
4) will not be monitoring and have no control over third parties’ use or misuse of the photograph(s) displayed on any website, social media platform, other digital medium, or in any other publication;
5) assumes no responsibility for lost or late entries or for incomplete computer transmissions, internet traffic congestion or any other technical problems or failures.
By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to release and hold harmless the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition, including any of its authorized agents, from any injury, loss or damage of any kind to persons or property, including but not limited to death, resulting in whole or in part directly or indirectly from participation in any Contest related activity or participation in the Contest.
